Visit the Farm

Chasing Honey Farm, co-located at Griffin Corners, is just outside the limits of the Village of Fleischmanns, New York.

It’s up on a forested meadow on the road to Halcott Center on Brush Ridge, where country cabins give way to stunning views of the surrounding Catskill Mountains. The land is privately held by the family, and is restricted to scheduled visits with the Head Beekeeper of Chasing Honey Farm. Please don’t try to wander across our bees for your own safety.

We offer a variety of agritourism options for a modest fee. This fee allows us to provide tour equipment, amenities, and properly insure the property and maintain the walking trails. Please check with your guests to make sure no one has severe allergies to bees before considering making the trip out to the farm.

These tours are by appointment only and must be booked in advance, subject to the schedule of the Head Beekeeper. We recommend contacting us as soon as you think you might want to visit and at least 2 weeks before you are planning to visit.

Tours run June through September harvest

See up-close how these tiny creatures thrive and build-out their hive, making sweet honey in the process. Please keep in mind that our property is located on a hilly meadow with limited street parking and tall grass in some areas. A straight hike to the apiary from the street is enough to get my blood pressure up and breathing a bit heavier (and I consider myself fairly fit). We do encourage participation from all visitors, however we do recognize the limitations of our offerings in this, our first phase of development.

Tour timing:

  • Tours are scheduled between 10am & 4pm
  • Tours run when the forecast air temperature highs are greater than 55°F
  • Tours do not run 24-hours before or after rainstorm or other severe weather event

Tour options:

  • 30-minute walking tours without opening the hives
  • 60, 90, or a 120-minute tour of the apiary and surrounding meadow
  • Curated picnic lunch on-site featuring local craft foodstuffs
  • Apple, alpine strawberry, spruce tip and blackberry foraging when in season

All tours include:

  • A hearty handshake and a “Thank You” from Chase
  • A button pin to commemorate your visit, Pure Catskills swag as available
  • A FREE sample of our finest, local raw cut comb honey to take home with you

Fill out the form below and we’ll be in touch and let you know when we can schedule a tour.

There is plenty else to do in the area. Just opposite our farm is Belleayre Mountain Ski Center, which hosts a summer concert series and fall festivals/leaf-peeping sky-lift. Nearby Margaretville is a perfect day-trip whistle stop.

The Delaware and Ulster County areas have many unique villages, quaint antique shops, gourmet farm-to-table restaurants, and outdoor adventures such as hiking, biking, hunting, fishing, and the like. There is a great day-use area and lake with lifeguarded swimming and concessions in Pine Hill, which is 5 minutes East of Chasing Honey Farm.

Why not stay at a B&B or rent a cabin for a week and make a vacation out of it.
An hour outside of New York City, this is the perfect weekend getaway destination.
